Hello Monday! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ, A quick recap of a post you may have missed over the weekend, yesterday I wrote about why software engineers shouldn't have favourite languages or frameworks. Today I'll write about something that affects us all. Monday is one day that screams productivity, though popular research posits that Tuesday is by far the most productive day of the week (yes, shocking! ๐Ÿคฏ). Be that as it may, everyone likes hacks that can help boost productivity and that's what I'll be sharing today.

A RELATABLE EXPLANATION

The average netizen copies and pastes a lot, it has literally saved us billions of hours of manually typing stuff. One challenge that we do have however is that sometimes we copy so many things that when we need something we previously copied we have to go back and copy it again. I was working recently and I did something that I thought everyone does, my developer colleague asked "What did you just do?" and that was when I realized that this hack isn't publicly known. Yes, it is possible to save things you copied and choose from a list of those copied things when you need to have them pasted again.

USEFUL SHORTCUTS

If you use a windows pc (windows 8 and above), simply head to your settings, click on "System", scroll down and you'll see "Clipboard", click the toggle feature underneath the "Clipboard history" and whenever you press the windows button + V you'll have access to the previously copied text, you can pin some so you don't lose them after you turn off your system. Another hack I think enough people don't know about is the Windows button and the period (.) button which brings up the emoji popup, you can select emojis and other special symbols without having to look up or Google them, copy and paste them in text.

Developers especially like shortcuts, I can't seem to remember all of them ๐Ÿ˜‚, however, the easiest shortcut to remember are the ones you use frequently, by far one of the most important shortcuts to me is the clipboard history, I hope you find it useful.
