A common misconception by those interested in tech

A lot people interested in software engineering see a free YouTube videos and books written on software engineering and think it'll be easy to pick a couple languages, make a ton of money and sail to the land of happily ever after. Be cautious when something looks too easy.

Those materials and free resources are a great bait to pull interested people in, more importantly the resources are there to rescue those who got tangled in the net and are stuck. You want to be a software engineer? Talk to machines? Well it's going to cost you things money can't buy. If you do survive the gravitational pull of this black hole you'll understand why the tech space is still considered a sunrise industry.

There are those who are of the opinion that the existence of so many free resources has diluted the quality of resources making it harder to learn online. I believe while that logic holds water it leaves out the fact that people learn in different ways and are able to connect with some tutors more than others, the existence of so many free content increases the odds of coming across a tutor you can connect with.
