Is money enough reason for learning how to code?

A lot of people start learning how to code for the money. It's highly unlikely that anyone becomes a software engineer just for the money, there are easier ways to make money, software engineering is hard enough to make you consider other alternatives.

To beat the steep learning curve you need passion, I've seen people lose sleep or willingness to eat over code, I've seen people's mood affected by the state of their code. If you're coding for money it can't get that personal.

I have a friend who started learning to code recently and had to confirm from me if dreaming about code is normal, I've also met people who claimed that coding isn't for them due to encountering a couple bugs. At the end of the day, money can't be the biggest motivation for coding.
